Stage Manager:      Jason Newsom

   Jason L. Newsom currently attends the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Performing and Visual Arts where he has studied technical theatre, and theatre in general, for the past 3 years. Courses include lighting, sound, set design, lighting design and sound design, all of which have been accomplished by Jason. He has been a crew head on every major theatre show at the academy since 2001. Credits include: Student technical director for Hello Dolly! and Honk!. Assistant lighting designer for an original dance drama by Jeanean Gallo The Kiss. Jason has also designed sound and lighting for dance shows performed on a regular basis by the Las Vegas Academy Dance Department.

   Jason, too, is a magician, and has done magic for the past 5 years. He has studied technical theatre, mime and improvisation, clowning, and basic theatre. Magic is the reason Jason decided to attend the Academy. "Although theatre isn't always magic, magic is always, or should always, be some type of theatre. Whether it's comedy, tragedy, or one of the '-isms', it will always be considered art."
